What process variables does our JUMO diraTRON DR100 temperature controller monitor?

The JUMO diraTRON DR100 controller is designed to control temperature, pressure, and other process variables.
It can operate as:

  • two-state (ON/OFF) controller – for simple applications, e.g., switching heaters on and off,
  • three-state controller – useful in processes requiring differentiation between more than two signal levels,
  • modulated regulator – enables more precise control of the output signal,
  • continuous controller (with optional analog output), ensuring smooth power control of actuators.

Thanks to this flexibility, our device is used in many industries, including the food, chemical,
plastics processing, and HVAC industries. Regardless of the specifics of the process, the device guarantees stable and precise control of parameters.

The controller is equipped with a universal analog input that can be configured according to process requirements. This makes the device suitable for both simple applications and more advanced measurement systems.

How does the operation and configuration of the device work?

The JUMO diraTRON DR100 has been designed to simplify daily operation and configuration as much as possible. It is equipped with an easy-to-read LCD display with a resolution of 64 × 96 pixels and backlighting, which shows values in text form. The intuitive menu and four buttons on the front panel allow for quick parameter setting. A two-color LED additionally informs about the operating status, with green indicating correct operation and red warning of errors.

Configuration support functions include auto-tuning, which allows PID control parameters to be automatically selected to suit the process characteristics, as well as a ramp function for controlled setpoint ramp-up and ramp-down. Built-in limit value monitoring increases process safety, and manual mode allows you to test the operation of the device and actuators. An additional security feature is password protection, which prevents unauthorized changes to settings.

The device can be configured directly on the front panel or using a computer. Thanks to the USB port and dedicated setup software, it is possible to quickly copy parameters and transfer configurations between different controllers. This significantly facilitates device startup and reduces implementation time in industrial installations.
