How to effectively manage water quality data at construction sites? The customer's challenge
Our client is a company that comprehensively handles waste management and water treatment at construction sites. Although its standards are based on the Swiss SIA 431 standard, the challenges of water quality management also apply to Polish realities, regulated primarily by environmental standards set forth in, among other things, the Water Law and environmental regulations (e.g., the Regulation of the Minister of Maritime Economy and Inland Navigation on the conditions for discharging wastewater into water or into the ground).
The company was facing the problem of time-consuming manual transfer of data on key water quality parameters - such as pH, NTU (turbidity) and flow. Previously, employees had to regularly copy measurement data from multiple devices to separate USB flash drives, which consumed time and posed the risk of archiving mistakes. It was important for the client to automate this process by transferring the data directly to a single, centralized system in the cloud. This would not only reduce work time, but also guarantee full compliance with current environmental regulations, eliminating the risk of errors when managing data manually. The client's goal was also to upgrade existing water quality monitoring systems to work with a modern solution such as the JUMO Cloud platform. Ultimately, the idea was to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and simplify the entire water quality management process, in compliance with current Polish legal requirements.
