We have derived our three core values of sustainability from the ESG criteria. They form the foundation of our actions and our decisions for a responsible future.
Member of the UN Global Compact
We are part of the UN Global Compact and are thus committed to the ten principles in the areas of human rights, labor standards, environmental protection and the prevention of corruption. This commitment strengthens our responsibility to actively implement sustainable business practices and make a contribution to a sustainable society.
17 Sustainable Development Goals
We support the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a global framework for a livable future. They help us to think holistically about key environmental, social, and economic challenges and to align our business activities responsibly. We have identified the SDGs that are relevant to us using a double materiality analysis.
SDG 6: Clean water and sanitation
Water is a central basis of life. Water conservation and sustainable water use are important to us. Therefore, we take care to use water resources sparingly and consciously in our activities.
SDG 7: Affordable and clean energy
The use of renewable energies and energy efficiency are important building blocks for a sustainable future. We attach great importance to making our processes as energy-efficient as possible.
SDG 8: Decent work and economic growth
We are committed to fair working conditions, equal opportunities, and sustainable economic development. We design our business processes responsibly and promote sustainable growth. By acting in partnership and treating our employees and partners with respect, we make a positive contribution to the economy, people, and the environment.
SDG 12: Responsible consumption and production
Sustainability in production and consumption is an important guiding principle for us. We use our resources efficiently to avoid waste and offer durable, responsibly manufactured solutions.
SDG 13: Climate action
Climate protection is a major challenge for society and the economy. We, too, are committed to sustainable practices in order to minimize negative impacts and conserve resources. We promote partnerships that strengthen climate protection and are continuously working to make our processes more efficient and environmentally conscious.
Entrepreneurial action based on ethical principles
We attach great importance to ethical behavior, both in our business conduct and in our dealings with one another. These principles are firmly anchored in the JUMO corporate philosophy and set out in writing in our Code of Conduct. We are therefore officially committed to adhering to ethical principles.
Equal opportunities through the Diversity Charta
“Diversity as an opportunity” - we follow this principle of the Diversity Charta. All employees are valued by us, regardless of their origin, age, gender, religion, ideology, disability or sexual identity.
By signing the Diversity Charta, we are making a public commitment to this and creating a working environment that is characterized by acceptance, trust and respect.
Connected region, living together
We have close ties with our region and are happy to actively support it. Social interaction and mutual help are a matter of course for us - in everyday life, in projects and in our dealings with one another.
We also want to pass this attitude on to our employees and trainees and encourage them to take on responsibility in our community.
SENSILO: Our plant for the future
With our newly built plant, we are sending out a clear signal for sustainability and future viability. We have already paid attention to energy-efficient processes, sustainable materials and resource-conserving construction methods during the planning and implementation stages in order to actively support our environmental goals:
- 700 kW photovoltaic system on the roof, which corresponds to the average energy requirements of around 200 single-family homes
- 20 geothermal probes, each 100 meters deep, installed on the 100,000 m² site
- 1.2 MW/h cooling capacity for building air conditioning, which corresponds to the cooling capacity of around 2000 cars
- A full-surface industrial underfloor heating system covering over 8500 m², which is comparatively larger than a soccer pitch (7140 m²)
- Efficient heat recovery from production processes
