In the Umweltallianz Allianz Hessen, we actively participate in the dialog between business and administration in order to make operational environmental protection as efficient as possible. Our main focus is on 6 objectives:
- Attractive framework conditions for Hesse as a business location
- Strengthening the personal responsibility of Hessian companies
- Ensuring high environmental standards in Hesse
- Reducing environmental legislation to the necessary level
- Cooperative and sustainable orientation of environmental policy
- Support for municipal environmental and climate protection
Energy management
In 2025, we were certified in accordance with EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme) and are listed in the EMAS register of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce. We are thus committed to transparent and effective environmental and energy management.
We have published an environmental statement in which we disclose our measures and progress. We regularly have these reviewed externally in order to continuously optimize our energy consumption and sustainably improve our environmental performance.
Member of the Sustainable Business Initiative
We are a member of the Sustainable Business Initiative and are thus committed to responsible, sustainable business practices. This membership underlines our commitment to actively implementing social responsibility in our daily activities.
We see it as part of our task to combine future-oriented business with regional ties and social commitment.
JUMO plants the future
- 2023 young oak trees planted in the UNESCO Rhön Biosphere Reserve
- Cooperation with the Hofbieber Forestry Office (HessenForst)
- The trees bind CO₂ and produce oxygen for the region
- More than 100 JUMO employees took part in the planting campaign
WEEE Directive and Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act
As a supplier of measurement, control, and regulation technology, our solutions were classified by the ear foundation in 2005 as control and monitoring instruments for commercial use (B2B) (registration number: 92688874). In accordance with the foundation's guidelines, we meet all legal requirements regarding registration, take-back, disposal, and recycling, as well as quantity reporting and reporting to the authorities.
Packaging Act
As a manufacturer of packaging subject to system participation, we comply with the requirements of Section 9 of the Packaging Act (VerpackG), which has been in force since January 1, 2019. This includes, among other things, the obligation to register with the “Central Agency Packaging Register – ZSVR” and participation in one of the dual systems in Germany.

We are happy to take back our packaging and recycle it. The costs incurred for shipping are borne by the sender.
Return of old devices
In accordance with Directive 2012/19/EU on waste electrical and electronic equipment, JUMO offers the option of returning old devices. We expressly point out that, in accordance with Directive 2012/19/EU on waste electrical and electronic equipment, programs and data stored on the devices must be deleted beforehand for data protection reasons.
Please register the return of old devices by email at sustainability@jumo.net. The sender bears the transport costs for the return shipment.
