The pressure inside the tank must be constantly monitored, as the liquefaction process is strongly dependent on it. In order to monitor the pressure inside the tank at such low temperatures, the medium to the pressure transducer must be heated to -40 °C via the evaporation lines. The reverse osmosis process is a key component of the desalination system for the preparation of drinking water. Seawater is pushed through a semi-permeable membrane under high pressure. It acts like a filter - allowing only certain ions and molecules to pass through.
