Single Pair Ethernet – Direkt vom Sensor in die Cloud
Single Pair Ethernet-Sensoren von JUMO: 3 überzeugende Gründe
Interview with Manfred Walter
Product manager for SPE technology
Single Pair Ethernet (SPE) is compelling to me for a variety of reasons. Imagine being able to handle Ethernet data transmission, power supply, and sending critical process information directly to the cloud over a single two-wire cable.
We can also network areas that were previously difficult to reach and implement new applications. Examples of such uses can be found in industrial automation, building automation, and the Internet of Things (IoT). SPE is therefore a door opener for innovations from which many industries can benefit.
In addition to the well-known JUMO hydroTRANS S20 multisensor, 2 new additions have been made. The JUMO flowTRANS MAG H20 measures the totalized flow rate of conductive media with high precision − even drop-by-drop. It can be used very flexibly in a wide range of processes. It also determines the temperature of the medium in addition to the totalized flow rate.
The JUMO DELOS S02 , on the other hand, is a small and reliable powerhouse. It is easy to configure and offers a high degree of process reliability as well as accuracy in plant applications in which the process variable pressure plays an important role. Its high protection type allows the pressure transmitter to be used in many industries.
All of the mentioned sensors have an integrated cloud gateway and can transfer the important sensor measured values directly to the JUMO Cloud via SPE interface without an additional edge gateway.
